Eric Nelsen

He studied for his MBA at the prestigious Columbia Business School, known for its rigorous curriculum and focus on cultivating future leaders in business. His time at Columbia reinforced his expertise in finance and strategy, empowering him with the skills necessary to navigate complex market dynamics. Eric received an MBA from Stanford University, where he graduated with distinction as an Arjay Miller Scholar and was named scholar of the year by the Marketing Faculty. For over 20 years, Eric has coached youth and high school sports and has served on several youth sports organizations’ boards. In addition to his law degree, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from the highly regarded Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. This foundation in business principles and methodologies complements his advanced studies, providing a robust skill set that blends legal insight with business acumen.

Eric was also Vice President of Client Services, New Business and Marketing for DCM, specializing in marketing and fundraising strategies for non-profit organizations. Eric started is career in the arts leading marketing efforts for Paul Taylor Dance Company. Eric has a multi-faceted practice representing first-generation entrepreneurs, hedge fund and private equity fund principals, tech founders, and high-net-worth families. He counsels clients regarding various aspects of their overall financial affairs, including sophisticated estate and income tax planning, corporate restructuring, establishing and running family offices and private trust companies, sophisticated insurance planning, and corporate governance and succession planning. Eric brings deep and practical experience to strategic, commercial and operational issues facing B2B and consumer businesses. During his over thirty-five years in consulting, he has specialized in helping energy and industrial businesses efficiently grow their top-line value.

He recently completed a two-year volunteer term with Audience 360, New York City’s shared database of arts patrons. Recently Eric joined Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as a Next Generation Advocate. Mr. Nelson has prepared and delivered expert witness testimony in not only civil cases, but also in state regulatory commissions. He is also certified in blockchain and has robotic process automation experience.

Prior to re-joining TRG Arts, Eric was Director of Marketing & Communications for New York City’s Kaufman Music Center, home of Merkin Concert Hall, Lucy Moses School (New York’s largest community arts school) and Special Music School (a K-12 public school for musically gifted youth). Eric is proud that each year of his tenure at Kaufman ticket revenue grew by close to 10%, including subscriptions.

He has over 38 years of experience consulting across a broad range of small, mid-market and international companies.
